More from Memento Park in Hungary. I was surprised to notice that some of the propaganda seemed aimed at kids. I’m also a little sad that my pictures didn’t quite capture how enormous some of the statues are - meant to be imposing and seen from far away.
More from Memento Park in Hungary. The first picture is looking out toward the entrance, where they have a statue that’s just boots - because the rest was destroyed when it was removed. If I’m remembering correctly, it had been Stalin.
These pictures (and the two following sets) are from Memento Park in Hungary. The park has statues that had been erected around Budapest during its communist occupation. It was really interesting to go with a cousin who was able to recall where some of the statues had been. It is recent history, which still surprises me.
